About some of the concepts involved

Diversity = Every human being has countless characteristics related to factors such as background, socioeconomic status, gender, sexuality, age, physical characteristics, limitations, sensitivities, appearance, religion, language, culture and beliefs. Taking diversity into account means that people’s differences are respected in a safe and positive atmosphere.

Accessibility = Here, the concept of “accessibility” means measures that take into account the possible disabilities of the employees or audience of Svenska Teatern. The purpose of these measures is to ensure that people with disabilities are able to carry out their work or complete their visit to the theatre on the same (or at least similar) terms as people who do not have a disability. Among other things, these measures can include close access to a toilet; the possibility to get information or performances interpreted in sign language or as an audio description; the possibility to get information in simplified Swedish and simplified Finnish; the possibility to get visual support; the possibility to book tickets for performances; or the possibility to move freely around the premises of the theatre.
